Angel Pavilion Ltd (“the Premises”)
Terms and Conditions of Hire (Updated 2025)
1. Definitions
-
Hirer: The individual named on the Hire Form. If an organisation is listed, both the signatory and the organisation are jointly responsible.

Premises: Angel Pavilion, Broomfield, Chelmsford, CM1 7AH.

Period of Hire: The dates/times agreed in the signed Hire Form.
2. Use of Premises
-
Hire applies to the hall space only, not the café. The connecting door to toilets must be monitored by the hirer during hire.

Maximum capacity: 60 people.
-
The Premises must not be sub-let, used unlawfully, or for purposes other than those agreed.
3. Responsibility of the Hirer
-
Supervise the Premises and guests at all times, including car parking arrangements.

Ensure orderly admission, conduct, and departure of guests.
-
Maintain good order, decency, and safety.

Leave the Premises clean and tidy. The Facility Manager may deduct costs from the security deposit if left in poor condition.

Supervise all children and vulnerable adults appropriately.
4. Damage, Liability & Insurance

The Hirer is responsible for all damage, loss, or theft during hire. Costs will be deducted from the deposit or invoiced separately if higher.

The Hirer indemnifies the Premises against claims arising from injury, loss, or damage during hire, unless caused by the Premises’ negligence.

Hirers organising public events or bringing external contractors/entertainment may be required to provide proof of Public Liability Insurance.
5. Restrictions
-
No alcohol unless agreed in writing and licensed via a Temporary Event Notice. Breach = immediate cancellation without refund.

No smoking inside the building.
-
No animals except assistance dogs (unless prior consent).
-
No fireworks, explosives, or pyrotechnics.
-
No drugs.
-
No alterations, fixings, or decorations without consent.

Only permitted electrical equipment may be used (prior written consent may be required).
6. Payment & Deposits
-
£100 refundable deposit required on booking.
-
Full hire fee payable no later than 8 weeks before the event.
-
Refunds/cancellations as set out in the Hire Form.

Bookings are not confirmed until both deposit and hire fee are received.
7. Venue Cancellation
-
The Premises may cancel the hire at any time. All monies paid will be refunded, but no further compensation is payable.
8. Safety & Emergencies
-
Fire exits must remain unlocked and unobstructed.
-
Fire safety point: by the children’s play area on the hard standing at the front of the building.
-
Closest alarm to be triggered in case of fire. Extinguishers may only be used if safe to do so.

The Hirer must comply with all current Fire Safety Regulations.
9. Termination of Hire
-
If the Hirer breaches these Terms, the Facility Manager may suspend or terminate the event immediately. Guests may be required to vacate without refund.
10. Miscellaneous
-
Parking: Hirer must ensure vehicles do not obstruct the highway or neighbours. No overnight parking permitted.

The Premises is not liable for failure of utilities, breakdowns, or events beyond its control.

Any posters/advertising must be approved at booking stage.
-
All equipment brought by the Hirer is at their own risk.
Declaration
By signing the Hire Form, the Hirer agrees to these Terms and Conditions.
